After the release of his Grammy Nominated masterpiece of an album Flower Boy; Tyler has managed to somehow shock the spectrum again with the unexpected release of his new single OKRA. Delivering a one-off track that narrates the impulsiveness and all-out "Fuck You" attitude to all things conventional that Tyler has managed to depict throughout his musical ascend as one of the industries most promising young creatives. After the beauty that was Tyler's Flower Boy project left resonating in its listeners' ears the offbeat and daring rapper has managed to flip any ideas we had on what his signature "sound" is completely on it's tale with his new release. The song's release on Youtube accompanied by an intensely vivid video depicting a vibrant and bright yet dark aesthetic has already racked up approximately 4.9 million views within a week and is already a banger. An almost in your face venture to remind us that Tyler, amongst his many talents, is indeed a rapper, and even though he has documented his dislike to the idea of only being known as a rapper, he nevertheless is often portrayed as one. So why not show it off? Tyler utilizes his wordsmith mastery in this one, demonstrating his powerful ability to deliver bruising punch-lines over a more minimalistic, but still hard-hitting instrumental in contrast to what was a more subtle much less gritty approach with his Flower Boy project. Proving that this one is definitely "a throwaway song" worth keeping in the collection.
