Following the controversial dismissal of their fellow band member, Ameer Vaan after sexual mis-conduct allegations against the artist earlier in May, that was later confirmed by the artist himself; the band members of Brockhampton haven't been in the best of spirits as of late, and understandably so. Ameer was a key element of the creative concoction that made Borckhampton a force to be reckoned with, and his sluggish delivery and powerful vocal lyricism in presence will be missed.

Shortly after allegations towards their member arose the band released a statement postponing their nationwide tour, that was presented by a distraught Kevin Abstract. We sat, we watched and felt with them, hoping this wouldn't be the end of a band that the world actually needed, the youth actually needed. We couldn't stress enough about how important this moment was for Brockhampton as a collective artistic offering. Not only was this a damper on their ideology's, ideology's that were easily relatable, encouraged realism, artistic expression and a blissful youthful aesthetic, but also a threat to the band's performance as a unit in general. When something has worked, has worked for so long, and suddenly you find it not working anymore, it's extremely hard to make it work again. It's a change of content, it's a change of image and it's a change of reception. it's easy to say that Brockhampton had found themselves in a vulnerable position, but it seems this may not spell the end of America's newest favourite boy band just yet.

The band joined as musical guests on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. Debuting their new song called “Tonya”, an obvious reference to the film I, Tonya, based on Tonya Harding, a reitred American figure skater implicated after an attack on fellow skater Nancy Kerrigan. The song was announced as an unreleased single off their new upcoming album 'The Best Years of Our Lives' by talk show host Jimmy Fallon. The song itself is beautiful, and the emotional articulation is there to be both felt and heard....and man was it tender, mad tender!

The originally cancelled tour is now back up and running. You can find the band's tour dates below:
